A man who was stabbed in Yaletown Monday morning is Vancouver’s eighth homicide victim of the year. A witness called 911 at about 8:30 a.m. to report that a man had been stabbed near Smithe and Homer streets. Vancouver police arrived moments later and found a 29-year-old victim in critical condition. He was taken to the hospital where he died a short time later. A 34-year-old woman was arrested nearby and is in custody. Anyone who saw the stabbing is asked to call the Vancouver Police Department’s homicide unit at 604-717-2500.
