A 28-year-old woman is facing impairment charges after crashing into a light pole early Saturday morning. Shortly before 4:00 a.m., police and the St. John responded to an accident at the intersection of New Gower Street and Adelaide Street, where a vehicle had gone over the pavement and struck a pole supporting the traffic lights. Newfoundland Power was called to cut power to the lights. No one was injured in the accident. The driver was located at the scene and sent for a breathalyzer test. The 28-year-old blew three times the legal limit and faces charges of impairment. He is expected to appear in court at a later date.
