The attacker walked away after stabbing the 27-year-old victim in St Johns Road in Ilford on Friday night. The Metropolitan Police have released images of a suspect they are looking for. She wears black clothing and a white and black bicycle helmet, carries a black bag and rides a distinctive green bicycle. The woman was taken to hospital after the attack and her injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing. Chief Inspector Chris Byrne said: “I know that this attack on a woman, coming so soon after the tragic murder of Zara Alina, will be of great concern to Londoners and particularly people in Ilford. “Of course, my colleagues and I share these concerns and are working hard to do everything possible to keep people safe. “The woman was attacked by a man on a bicycle who then drove off in the direction of Meads Lane, Ilford. “Anyone who recognizes the person in the images being circulated is asked to call the police immediately.” The image shows the suspect on Meads Lane at the time of the attack. Locals will have seen more police in the Ilford area since Ms Aleena’s murder. Police have deployed ‘additional resources’ Mr Byrne said: “We have deployed additional resources in the local area, including officers who specialize in tackling violent crime. “We will continue to adjust our plans to ensure officers are visible and available to support the community this weekend and in the coming days. “If you have any concerns or information, please speak to these officers.” Law graduate Zara Aleena, 35, died from head and neck injuries after being attacked in the early hours of Sunday 26 June. He was returning home from a night out along Cranbrook Street, an area he knew well and where the family said he felt “safe”. Jordan McSweeney, 29, of Church Elm Lane, Dagenham, east London, appeared at the Old Bailey charged with murder, attempted rape and robbery. He did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody until September 30.
