Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina, who was born in Russia and still resides in Moscow, will face Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur in the top-seeded women’s singles match on Saturday. Rybakina is part of a string of players, including Alexander Bublik and Yulia Putintseva, who emigrated from Russia to Kazakhstan, whose tennis federation offered scholarship packages and access to top training facilities to promising players.
