The BC Wildfire Service says the two fires burning near Westwold are both less than a hectare in size. A fire officer says the Castanet K40148 and K40149 fires have both crews in attendance. Three crew members are at K40148 while the K40149 has one person managing the fire. “The chance of success for them is quite high,” the officer said. The causes of the fire are being investigated, but it is possible that they were caused by humans. The risk of fire in the area is low-moderate. “Please be responsible, be careful and do everything you can to prevent fires,” BCWS said on Twitter.
