Thomas Campbell, 38, was found dead at an address in Riverside in Mossley at around 10.30am last Sunday. In what detectives describe as “huge steps”, two men, aged 31 and 37, were arrested on Thursday and Friday. Both remain in custody. An investigation into the murder is proceeding at a “rapid pace”, Greater Manchester Police said. “These arrests are huge steps in our murder investigation as we piece together the horrific attack and give the family the answers they so desperately need,” said Detective Inspector Mark Davies from the Major Incident Squad. “Our investigation is very much continuing into what we still believe was targeted and deliberate [incident].” Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
