Time magazine has compiled a list of the 50 best destinations to visit in 2022 as countries around the world open their borders to international travel. To compile its list, the US news publication solicited nominations from its international network of correspondents, with an emphasis on those who offer “new and exciting experiences”. The list includes a wide variety of locations including everything from the colorful underwater kingdom of the Great Barrier Reef to the out-of-this-world wonder of the International Space Station, the unparalleled wildlife viewing opportunities of the Galapagos Islands to the canals of Copenhagen and more unique points around the world. Time included Canada’s surfing capital in its list of top places to visit in 2022. In addition to its world-class surfing opportunities, the report’s editors note that it’s an incredible destination to enjoy “tours in the wild nature, hiking in the forest and walks on long sandy beaches reconnecting people with nature”. The new wood-burning floating sauna at Tofino Resort + Marina offers year-round enjoyment, with storm-watching opportunities from its floor-to-ceiling windows. Toronto was the only other Canadian city to make the list, which is described as “a city that begs to be discovered and appreciated.” Time also mentions many of the city’s attractions, including Lake Shore Inflatable Water Park, Frida Immersive Dream and the Toronto Art Biennial. One of the most popular beaches near Tofino was recently included in a list of the 100 best beaches in the world. Long Beach is part of three sections of the park, between Ucluelet and Tofino, and stretches for 10 kilometers.
