Three people were shot during a pool party at The Mansion in Glen Cove Sunday night.
Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck confirmed the incident to News 12 Long Island.
Police say shots were fired shortly after 5pm at the event hosted by Starlets NY, a gentlemen’s club based in Queens.
Glen Cove Police say people were scattering throughout the Mansion property when officers arrived.
Almost 200 people turned up at the mansion for the party to celebrate the birthday of celebrity Big Fendi. The event was heavily advertised on social media and was open to the public.
Police say there was an argument at the party between two guests. A security guard was ushering people out when several gunshots rang out in the lobby area.
Two party guests were hit in addition to a security guard.
Police say the victims who suffered non-life threatening injuries were taken to the hospital.
Glen Cove Hospital confirmed that some victims were taken to its facility.
Panzenbeck said the victims were not from Glen Cove and she wasn’t sure if the party had a city permit or not. He promised that this would be the last such party in Glen Cove.
“This was advertised on the Internet. We won’t have it in the future,” said Panzenbeck, who also told News 12 Long Island that “nothing like this has happened in Glen Cove.”
He praised the response of Glen Cove police and pointed out that those involved were not Glen Cove residents.
As of Sunday night, Glen Cove police had not made any arrests or recovered any weapons.
