He shocked many by lining up for both The Masters and the PGA Championship – both tough walks for Woods and his damaged leg. St Andrews will not offer the same difficulties as the links course is not as hilly as the other majors. And Woods certainly knows his way around St Andrews having won twice on the Old Course. The likes of Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Xander Schauffele will all be hoping to stop Woods from winning a 16th major. Schauffele arguably enters The Open in top form having won both the Travelers Championship and the Scottish Open. There will also be plenty of attention on the likes of Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau, all of whom defected to LIV Golf in recent months.
