Devin Sabean and Dylan Vautour are remembered as wonderful men who left the community too soon. The crash happened around 1 a.m. on Pickwauket Road, which connects the Kingston Peninsula to Hampton, according to RCMP. The brothers, 22 and 24, were both from Kingston, RCMP said, and died at the scene as a result of their injuries. “An RCMP collision reconstructionist was consulted and a member of the New Brunswick Medical Examiner’s Office attended the scene,” the RCMP statement said. “Autopsies are scheduled to determine the men’s exact cause of death.” Alyssa Rodgerson said Dylan leaves behind a young daughter, who is her godmother. “He loved his daughter … more than life itself,” Rodgerson said. “He was a great friend and an even better dad. “His spirit was infectious, he laughed a lot, loved a lot and made many long lasting friendships along the way.” Dylan Vautour, left, and Devin Sabean are remembered as gentle men who were known in the Kingston area of southern New Brunswick. (Submitted by Alyssa Rodgerson) He said there aren’t many people in the small community who don’t know the brothers, who were avid motorcycle and car enthusiasts. “They were always down for a party or an adventure, they have a way of bringing the good times with them,” he said. On Friday afternoon, Kiara Chisholm was at the scene of the crash, which is just after a bend in the road and a kilometer from Kredl’s Corner Market. He said he went to school with the brothers and described them as “the kindest, kindest, sweetest men ever”. Hampton Fire Chief Mike Rayburn said two of the younger firefighters who responded to the crash knew the brothers. He said he’s “watching them very closely,” to make sure they’re OK. He said the department has mental health resources and firefighters have regular debriefings “to give them a chance to take stock so, you know, they don’t have to keep it all in.”
2nd crash kills 18 year old
The brothers were two of three young men killed in two separate collisions early Friday morning. The other crash happened 100 miles southwest of Hampton, near Millville. An 18-year-old man was killed in the crash around 1 a.m., said Justin McGuigan, fire chief of the North York Fire Department. He said the one-vehicle crash happened on Highway 104 about 60 kilometers west of Fredericton. He referred all other questions to the RCMP, which had not released any information about the crash as of 11:30 a.m. of Friday. RCMP spokesperson Sgt. André Pepin said both accidents are still under investigation, but speed is believed to be a factor in both. He said the RCMP would not identify or confirm the names of any of the crash victims.
