First round of storms weakening, another possible this afternoon

The storms plaguing northern Minnesota will continue to weaken as they move eastward into areas like Ely and Duluth. After a few hours of calm, another round of storms is expected to develop across central Minnesota after 3 p.m. This system will move toward the Twin Cities, which are at the southern end of the highest risk area for severe weather. By midnight, things will calm down and we will be quiet all night. Sunday will also see high dew points and high temperatures, with a high of 90 degrees in the Twin Cities. There is a chance for morning showers Monday and more scattered storms north and northeast of the metro through the afternoon. We’ll have a dry stretch midweek before things start to heat up. 10:14 am
