Emergency crews responded to Mount Temple in Banff National Park late Saturday morning after reports of a fall. RCMP officials say a member of an experienced hiking group lost his footing during a climb and slipped on snow and ice. A Parks Canada helicopter crew located the man’s body at a location about one kilometer (3,300 feet) below the slide. The identity of the dead hiker has not been released.
