In October 2020, he was charged with impaired driving and most recently, the Macomb County District Attorney’s Office was considering a multiple warrant request for an alleged shooting into a crowd on July 9. A 9mm Glock pistol was recovered in this incident. The neighbor says it all amounts to a sense of shame in a system that ultimately couldn’t prevent the officer’s death. “When we have young children in this area, generally just gun violence, I worry about the safety of my children and the young youth that are on the block,” the neighbor said. We reached out to an attorney who was appointed Thursday to represent Davis in his most recent case. He offered his condolences to the Detroit Police Department and the Courts family, but said nothing more.
