An unusual incident at a home in Azilda earlier this week has the Greater Sudbury Police Service (GSPS) asking for help from the public. Police said the incident may somehow involve a previous traffic-related hit-and-run Police said the incident happened around 3:05 p.m. on July 4 when a man wearing a yellow helmet and face shield was driving an ATV and drove into a residence on Brabant Street in Azilda. The man is described as between 65-70 years old, about 5’8″-5’10” with a medium build, police said. In the police statement, “The male knocked on the door of the residence and when the homeowner opened the door, the male lunged at him leading to a brief physical altercation.” After a brief argument, the homeowner managed to push the man out of the residence and closed the door. The homeowner was not injured as a result of the fight, police said. The man left the property on the ATV, last seen driving on Brabant Street towards Laurier Street. Police released a picture of the intruder riding the ATV in case anyone recognizes the person or the ATV. “This is believed to be a targeted incident as the two individuals are believed to have been involved in a previous traffic related matter,” the police statement said. Anyone with information regarding this incident, the owner of the ATV or the person driving the ATV at the time of the incident is asked to contact the Police at 705-675-9171 or Crime Stoppers at 705-222-8477.
