SFPD officials say officers received the report around 8:15 p.m. Friday and when they arrived on scene they found a suspicious package. Officers deemed the object “possibly incendiary” and evacuated the international terminal out of caution. Police say officers have arrested a man in connection with the incident and an investigation is underway. We are already seeing an impact from this evacuation on international departures, according to the SFO website, several flights have been delayed. However, the SFO tweeted that travelers should contact their airlines for specific flight information. BART officials say Samtrans bus service is available between Millbrae and SFO in both directions, and BART tickets will be accepted as fares. SFO officials say people can still pick up and drop off passengers at domestic terminals. Several travelers took to Twitter to show the extent of the evacuation where thousands of people could be seen standing on the pavement and road outside the international terminal.
