Health Canada issued a media release and warning Tuesday morning regarding unapproved health products sold at the Big Bee Convenience & Food Mart at 800 Barton St. E., near Lottridge Street, in Hamilton and stores in British Columbia that they say “may be serious health risks.” Potentially dangerous products include 777K, Plus Imperial Love 22000, Rhino 7 Platinum 5000, Spanish Fly 20,000, Stiff Rox, Super Panther 7K, Twin Rhino 69 Power 500K+, VIP Go Rhino, Platinum Rhino Platinum 200, Premier Rhino 20 5000 and Twin Rhino 69 Power 500K+. The 12 products contain the unapproved drugs yohimbe, tadalafil and sildenafil, which should only be taken after consulting a healthcare professional. Yohimbe is a prescription drug that could have serious side effects and reactions, especially in people with high blood pressure or heart, kidney, or liver disease. The prescription erectile dysfunction drugs tadalafil, sold in Canada under the brand name Cialis, and sildenafil, sold under the brand name Viagara, can both cause potentially life-threatening low blood pressure if mixed with either nitrate drug. Also, both have a number of side effects and can be dangerous for people with heart problems. Customers should stop taking unauthorized products immediately, Health Canada warns, and anyone with health problems should contact a doctor. The government announcement said residents should only use drugs approved by Health Canada. The public advisory warns that unapproved health products may also contain ingredients not listed on the label and may contain a potentially dangerous combination of ingredients. SHARE:
