“I contacted the owner and found it in the middle of nowhere in a very dilapidated barn where it had been for 40 years. “It was a very sexy piece of kit in the 1960s. It was a luxury sports car on par with an Aston Martin DB4 or an E-Type Jaguar. Someone very rich would have owned it back in the day. “The owner bought it when he was 11 years old. It was in a garage in High Wycombe for some time after collision repairs. “The seller used the car daily for the next 10 years, transporting the family of five in it. “He then drove it to the barn with the intention of doing some work on it, but other things took over. When the barn roof leaked, it was in bad shape very quickly and it became increasingly scary for him to do the work. “It was in an absolutely shocking state when I saw it.”
