While Rogers says it has restored the “vast majority” of its customers’ connections, reports of ongoing internet, phone and TV outages are still being tracked.
A holiday map in Is the Service Down? depicts the areas of the country where the holiday continues to severely affect residents. The site tracks real-time outages and problems with services from internet and phone providers to video streaming sites and messaging apps.
In particular, Toronto presents the latest reports of ongoing holiday problems.
The site reports more than 25,000 holiday reports exclusively in Toronto in recent days. Of these reports, 51% are of internet outages, with the remaining power outages involving telephone, television, Wi-Fi and email.
Currently, the website states that residents in downtown Toronto (M5A, M9N, M5V), Eglinton West and Weston (M9N, M6M), North York (M3H), Jane and Finch (M3N) and Caledonia (M6E ) reported the most recent outages.
After Toronto, more than 5,500 vacation reports have been filed in Brampton along with more than 5,400 in Ottawa. Barry has also been heavily impacted with nearly 3,000 recent reports.
London, Kitchener, Mississauga, Guelph and Hamilton are also listed as notable areas still feeling the impact in Ontario. A real-time map shows the areas in Ontario still affected by the Rogers Outage (Is the Service Down Canada).
