MOSCOW, July 11 (Reuters) – Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Monday extending Russia’s simplified naturalization process to all citizens of Ukraine, according to a document posted on the government’s website. Previously, a simplified procedure for obtaining Russian citizenship only applied to residents of the self-proclaimed breakaway regions of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) in eastern Ukraine, which Russia is seeking to “liberate” from Kiev’s control. as well as the Russian-occupied regions of Kherson and Zaporizhia, state news agency TASS reported.
