Katerina Tikhonova, 35, has been named co-chair of a group of officials tasked with mitigating the impact of Western sanctions by reducing Russia’s dependence on Western goods and technology. Russia is now the most sanctioned country in the world, overtaking Iran and North Korea, analysts say. The efforts are coordinated by the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Russia, which represents private and state-owned enterprises. The Kremlin seeks to avoid Western sanctions by importing goods into Russia through third countries without the consent of trademark owners.
