What happened to Raikes Road in Preston?
Police were called at around 6.25pm on Friday to Raikes Road following reports of an assault. Paramedics and police rushed to the scene and found the 27-year-old man from Preston with stab wounds to the chest. He died later in hospital.

He was remanded in custody until Tuesday. Several people were also arrested on suspicion of murder. Another teenage boy, also 16, from Preston was bailed on September 3, with two girls, aged 15 and 16, both from Preston, remaining on bail until August 5. Another teenager was arrested on suspicion of murder. The 17-year-old, from Preston, is now in custody.
What did the police say?
Chief Inspector Mark Haworth-Oates, of Lancashire Police’s Investigation Team, said: “Firstly, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the man’s family and friends. This is a completely tragic and heartbreaking incident and my thoughts are with them at this very difficult time. “I would urge any witnesses, who have not yet spoken to the police, to come forward and tell us what they know. “This is the second fatal stabbing in Preston in the last month and I understand that people in the local community may be concerned. “These two offenses are not connected but the result is that two families in Preston have now been left devastated by the impact of knife crime. I would urge anyone thinking of carrying a knife to seriously consider the consequences – you could end up jailed, injured or killed.
