A pregnant woman was allegedly raped by her anesthesiologist during a caesarean section. Giovanni Quintella Bezerra, 32, was arrested on suspicion of rape after he was secretly filmed putting his penis in the woman’s mouth after heavily drugging her at Hospital da Mulher in São João de Meriti, Rio de Janeiro. Mr Bezerra completed his medical training in anesthesia two months ago, the Sun reported. Hospital staff were reportedly concerned about the amount of medication he was giving his patients, so a secret camera was installed to see what he was doing. He reportedly assaulted her for nearly ten minutes. Clovis Bersot Munhoz, president of Cremerj Clovis Bersot Munhoz said the alleged attack was “senseless”. He allegedly raped the woman while she was undergoing a caesarean section at a hospital in Brazil The Health Foundation of the State of Rio de Janeiro and the Minister of Health stated: “We inform you that an internal investigation will be launched to take administrative measures. “The Hospital da Mulher team provides full support to the victim and his family. “This behavior constitutes a crime, which must be punished in accordance with applicable law.” Police are investigating whether the anesthetist has other victims and praised hospital workers who noticed his strange behaviour.
