The suspect, Justin Heimbecker, is described as six feet three inches tall with brown eyes. He was last seen on foot and is believed to be armed, although police do not know where he is or if he has access to a vehicle, the alert said. Langham is located approximately 30 kilometers northwest of Saskatoon. The first alert about the incident was issued at 7:40 a.m. CST on Friday. A later update describing Heimbecker was issued shortly after 9 a.m. CST. Councilwoman Carol Epp said early Friday that it was unclear at this time exactly what was going on. “We stay inside so we don’t go out. We saw police cars go by, we heard sirens, but that’s about it,” Epp said. “There are a thousand things on Facebook, but no one seems to know.” Officers in Langham, Sask., are searching for Justin Heimbecker, who police say is the suspect in a Friday morning shooting in the town. (Don Somers/CBC) Residents in the Langham area are advised to seek shelter, lock doors and windows and not leave any safe location. “I looked at my door when I first got the warning, but I haven’t seen anyone,” said Mitch Deschambeault, owner of the Three Bean Cafe in Langham. “I think everyone’s already locked in and everything. We decided not to open the doors obviously, so I’m waiting to see more information.” The RCMP is responding and has asked the public not to reveal officers’ locations on social media. The notice states that more information will be released as it becomes available.
