RCMP are trying to identify someone who made a call to 911 in apparent distress. The call came in around 9:00 Wednesday night, but the caller hung up before they could be connected to police. The caller, in a state of panic, said they were in the Marystown area, and claimed that someone was chasing them. Before the dispatcher could connect the caller to RCMP the line disconnected. The number was untraceable, and police conducted intense patrols, and made numerous inquiries in and around Marystown, but were unable to identify or locate the caller. RCMP have released the audio file and a transcription of the call in hopes of identifying the caller and ensuring their safety.
