Many adults across Ontario can now book second booster shots against COVID-19.
The provincial booking website began allowing anyone aged 18 or over who had their first souvenir at least five months ago to book from 8am.
Previously, second boosters – or fourth doses – were only available to immunocompromised people, people aged 60 and over and Indigenous adults.
The Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore signals that people without underlying conditions may choose to wait until the autumn, when vaccines targeting the Omicron variant specifically will hopefully become available.
He said Ontarians should talk to their health care provider about whether the fourth dose is right for them.
Moore says people are advised to wait at least three months after contracting COVID-19 to get a booster shot.
