He traveled to the UK to perform at the Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park at the weekend – where police also had to be deployed to manage the crowds – and announced yesterday that he would be at Cafe KOKO.
But after repeated attempts to reach the venue safely on Monday, her chauffeur-driven car was blocked as screaming fans surrounded the vehicle and chased it down the road.
Taking to Twitter to share the clip of a fan on a black plane, Nicki wrote: ‘Guys if you don’t get into a confined space they won’t let me out of the cars. Please do not run on the streets. Please enter 1 position. 1 line.’
The Met Police said they had deployed officers to close roads and manage crowds as they confirmed that Minaj and organizers had canceled the event “in the interest of safety”.

In the video, the car came to a stop on the road outside the venue, but as her fans rushed towards the vehicle from all angles, she pulled away as they raced after her in the desperate hope of catching a glimpse of the star.
In another video, a police officer was heard telling the crowd: “No matter what Ms. Minaj writes, she’s not here, she’s driven by, she’s gone. No matter what he says, this is a fact.’
A Metropolitan Police spokesman told MailOnline: ‘A local policing plan was in place for an event at KOKO in Camden this afternoon.
“Venue staff contacted the police in advance, concerned about a significant crowd outside.
“Further police resources had to be deployed to maintain public order and close roads.
“In the interest of safety, event organizers have taken the decision that the event will not take place. Citizens are advised not to travel to the area.”

Speaking during an Instagram Live, he said: “I’m doing a meet and greet tomorrow. It’s called Cafe KOKO. I’ll be there at noon.

It comes after police were called to help manage large crowds at the sweltering Wireless Festival ahead of Nicki Minaj’s performance at the weekend.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police read: “A small number of people tried to get through an entrance to the Wireless Festival while others were queuing.
“As a result of this, security staff have put in place a brief suspension of people entering the event to ensure the safe flow of people into the venue. This resulted in a large crowd forming in the area around the site.

“Officers assisted security staff with crowd management to keep people safe.
“We continue to work closely with the event organizer and other partners to prevent further disruption and thank people who attended for their patience, particularly in the hot weather.”
Harrigey Council said two nearby roads were closed “to enable the safety of the crowd to be managed”.
