Rob Herring and Jack Conan play for Dan Sheehan and Caelan Doris. 62 minutes. An All Black attack gathers momentum with Jordie Barrett close to being wide before a desperate, brilliant Dorris tap tackle falls on him. The ball goes back in but NZ don’t clear and Ireland have a consolation penalty. Sail Fakatava replaces Aaron Smith for New Zealand. 60 minutes. Another burst, another penalty for Ireland as Tu’ungafasi goes down. But Sexton can’t find contact, or rather he took the ball just over the line, but Rees acrobatically pulled it back. 57 minutes. NZ spin the underwater wheel. Richie Mo’unga plays for Beauden Barrett

PENALTY! New Zealand 7 – 20 Ireland (Jonny Sexton)

56 minutes. Some nice phases from Ireland in attack work something of an overlay down the right which is destroyed by James Lowe throwing a miss-two pass that misses everyone but the crowd got on the wrong side of the touchline. They were in the advantage though and Sexton steps up and strokes it through the posts. 53 minutes. The Irish team put the hammer down at the scrum and drove the All Black eight back to win a penalty. This is a decent sign at this stage. Sexton finds contact in the New Zealand half. Updated at 09.34 BST 52 minutes. The All Blacks are back in Ireland’s half and look to be massing in a maul before the ball breaks and Ofa Tu’ungafasi taps it over. 50 minutes. New Zealand replace Lester Fainga’anuku with Will Jordan.

TRY IT! New Zealand 7 – 17 Ireland (Andrew Porter)

49 minutes. Another big carry from Aki gets Ireland up in the NZ half, goes right to O’Mahony who has run out the clock before a few more phases get the ball over the line. The final phase is a pick and drive by Porter to score again. Sexton adds two. Ireland really love to score early against this team. Andrew Porter scores another try for Ireland. Photo: Brendan Moran/Sportsfile/Getty Images Updated at 09.40 BST 45 minutes. A carry by Bundee Aki puts Ireland’s attack in the All Black 22, but again it’s a bit off with the timing before the ball is lost and New Zealand go back on the counter. 43 minutes. Gibson-Park picks up a cross-eyed snipe from a scrum and kicks over for Hansen to chase down. The winger never got there, dribbled into contact and NZ cleared it. Retallick left the field for an HIA, replaced by Patrick Tuipolotu. 41 minutes. It has been confirmed that Gary Ringrose will not return, so Bundee Aki continues at centre.

Second half!

40 minutes. The All Blacks collect Sexton’s kick safely and after two kicks Ireland are on the ball in the home half before Ref Peyper blows up as Retallick looks foul after bouncing his head off Henshaw’s pelvis in a tackle. Halftime thoughts All things considered, Ireland is doing a terrible job here. They have played most of the half against less than fifteen and had an all you can eat buffet with possession. Unfortunately, when they do access this buffet, they often drop their plates, forget their cutlery or allow the New Zealand kids to get to the good vol-au-vents. A tortured analogy? Sure, but nothing is as tortured as men in men’s attempts to score from the tenth minute. Jamison Gibson-Park needs to be replaced and James Ryan could check his brain isn’t in the other scrum cap. New Zealand blocked and frustrated everything, and Ringrose had to try a penalty, but Ireland will never have a better chance of winning in New Zealand than this one and so far they have let it slip from their hands, often literally in the first half . .

Half time!

PEEEEEEEEEP. This is the end of the first forty.

TRY IT! New Zealand 7 – 10 Ireland (Beauden Barrett)

40+1 minutes. The All Black players take it in turns to pump their feet towards Ireland’s tantalizingly narrow line. The ball is bundled in from the back of a back under the posts and Beauden Barrett nudges it gently forward with his foot to ground it and score before slotting in his own try. YELLOW CARD! James Ryan.

39 minutes. Another New Zealand penalty, this one on the five-metre line is kicked by Cody Taylor before James Ryan is given ten minutes for repeated team offences. All Blacks will come again. 37 minutes. New Zealand have a lineout in Ireland’s half, which they claim and advance to a maul while the referee plays a penalty advantage. It’s going nowhere so the ref pulls it back and Beauden Barrett goes to the corner! There’s a very real chance NZ can finish this half with a try after spending all of their life so far in their own half. There is a break in play as the referee spots NZ as having fifteen players on the field despite being red carded. It looks like Ardie Savea is out as he was substituted after the red card so this is permanent, something the All Black management failed to do. Ouch. This is a huge loss in the context of this game. 35 minutes. Scrum is uncontested for reasons I can’t quite understand at this stage. The Irishman makes a nice pattern out of his back to find James Lowe running into midfield from his wing, but the big man knocks it over! New Zealand clear the result. 33 minutes. Ireland had two shots on the NZ line from lineouts, each ending a penalty awarded by the All Blacks. The latest is Codie Taylor collapsing the maul and Peyper has warned Sam Cane that cards are coming. Ireland have yet to score since the tenth minute and they make a last-ditch effort to rectify that. Ardie Savea comes off for Aidan Ross as the first row is required after the red card.

RED CARD! Angus Ta’avao

31 minutes. In the midst of this, Angus Ta’avao was very upright and very strong at Ringrose. There is no mitigation and the support is off, blood running down his face. So NZ is back to thirteen for now, and fourteen for the rest of the game (no more cards!). 30 minutes. Codie Taylor gives him Dan Marino’s full toss for Quinn Tupaea but the center hits it to Van Der Flier who takes a hit of his own but there’s advantage played for some reason before another knock-on brings the game at the end. That’s about 174 knock-ons so far this half. 27 minutes. Ireland have a clash with New Zealand currently playing with thirteen men. The visitors have the ball but it’s all a bit of a blur and the All Black defense is doing a decent job of containing the attack so far. Better than that, the TMO has spotted a green knock-on and NZ will have a scrum to clear the ball and Leicester Fainga’anuku is now back again. Ireland need another try before half-time. It is at the top in both gameplay and player numbers. Tadhg Beirne on the move. Photo: Hagen Hopkins/Getty Images Updated at 08.42 BST

YELLOW CARD! Ofa Tuungafasi

25 minutes. Ireland are on the ball and up to New Zealand’s 22, working several phases, and as Sexton looks to score the ball inside Ringrose, the Irish center is tackled by Ofa Tuungafasi. The bracket is off for ten minutes. Had Ringrose received that ball, he would have scored. However there are black shirts in the shot so Ref Peyper says there was a cover so no penalty was attempted but anyone who has ever watched rugby knows Ringrose was there. 21 minutes. On an All Black lineout, James Ryan pointlessly slaps Scott Barrett on the back in the air after NZ claim the ball. This is one of the stupidest penalties I’ve seen, normal stuff that sinks into the corner. 19 minutes. At the end of it all, Sexton puts it in the corner instead of going for the seats. The lineout is packed but at the maul the ball won’t come out and it will be an All Black scrum. This cock-up then worsens with Van Der Flier breaking the scrum early to give New Zealand a zone relief. How important will this touch down decision be at the end?

YELLOW CARD! Leicester Fainga’anuku

17 minutes. McHansen is down with blood pouring from a cut on his cheek. It was caused by Leicester’s Fainga’anuku pouncing on him when he tried to block Hansen’s kick. Ref Peyper looked and says it was first contact to the chest and then to the head, so it’s yellow. This was pretty reckless, chest contact was unchecked and shoulder first. Always a strange reference to the result in such situations. 15 minutes. The Irish defense plays as if they’ve all returned home to find an All Black in bed with their significant other. Absolutely sparkling. This limits New Zealand’s progress and forces a change of tack to strike after a few phases. The last of which is beaten by a hunter Quinn Tupaea.

PENALTY! New Zealand 0-10 Ireland (Jonny Sexton)

13 minutes. Caelan Doris hammers Retallick in the ruck and grabs the ball to win a very handy penalty on the NZ 10m line. It’s a little too far ahead and the captain goes up and opens it. 10 minutes. There is a break in play as Peter O’Mahony has a bit of treatment on his hand. In the end it looks ok. Even game on the field so far, if not on the scoreboard yet. Both teams do equally decent things and drop the ball as well. 9 minutes. The All Blacks build ominously in the Irish half and a flustered James Lowe pulls back Quinn Tupaea to give away an away penalty. It’s kickable but Boden Barrett puts it in the corner – a continuation of last week’s intention – before James Ryan beats it! Ireland clear it away. 6 minutes. New Zealand decide it’s their turn to play a bit as they catch and drive a lineout on their own 10m line before releasing the fullbacks. Jordie Barrett is almost wide but Ireland’s defense are on hand and he’s going to clear the ball but he hits as he does so. Updated at 08.13 BST

TRY IT! New Zealand 0-7 Ireland (Andrew Porter)

3 minutes. By McHansen…
