Health Minister Jason Copping says Albertans age 12 and older can already get Tricafta, but now it’s available for people between the ages of six and 11. “Alberta was one of the first provinces and territories to provide access to Trikafta for older children and adults,” says Copping. “Once again, the Alberta government is leading the way by quickly making this transformative drug available to younger children, giving them the same opportunity to realize an improved quality of life.” Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that causes mucus to build up in the lungs, digestive system, and other parts of the body.
