No one was injured, but the situation canceled the show at The Comedy Zone at the AvidXchange Music Factory, where comedian Craig Robinson was scheduled to perform. Employees told Channel 9 reporter Tina Terry that a man walked into the club brandishing a gun and demanded everyone leave the building. Officials said it happened around 9:10 p.m About 50 customers were inside and dozens more were outside. Employees said they started running out the door. CMPD confirmed that after everyone evacuated, the suspect fired the gun inside. The police were able to quickly arrest the gunman. He was taken to CMPD headquarters where detectives were trying to find out why he did this. Meanwhile, many people who were there Saturday were just thankful no one was hurt. “I heard there were people left outside, even some of our colleagues couldn’t get in. They were confused,” said Serenity Sanders. “Too much chaos. I’m glad it wasn’t bad, people could still go out to the factory and enjoy their time outside.” It all happened about 30 minutes before a sold out show with Robinson. Police said the show was cancelled. On Saturday night, Robinson spoke for the first time in an Instagram Live he recorded after the terrifying situation. “There’s an active shooter at the club I was at, so we had to run here to this concert,” he said. Then later, “It was just wild, I was in the green room, it was like, ‘Everybody get out.’ It was definitely wild.” This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
