Abi Fisher’s body was found in undergrowth near Brierley in South Yorkshire on Monday. Her husband Matthew, 29, from Castleford, has been charged with murder. The couple share a young child. Mr Fisher was remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday. Mrs Fisher, a teacher, was last seen on Friday July 8 shortly before midnight in Walton Park Road in Castleford. In a statement, Ms Fisher’s family said “words cannot describe” how “very devastated” they are. They said Ms Fisher, also 29, was their ‘beautiful angel’ and they miss her ‘so much’. “We promise to make you proud every day and we will continue to raise your beautiful baby girl the way you would,” the family said. “Heaven may have gained an angel, but we have lost you, and that to us seems like the most unjust act that has ever happened.” They continued: “We as a family would like to thank each person who showed enough heart and love to search for our precious angel. Words will never describe how much this means. “For now, our beautiful angel, we love you so much.”
