Rob Gibson A Kelowna driver caught a disturbing incident on dashcam video this week. The driver who followed the pickup did not want his name published, but felt strongly enough about what he saw that he wanted to share it publicly. The incident happened on July 4 at approximately 6:50 a.m. on Pandosy St. The video also shows two other crows taking off from the right side of the truck just before it swerved. “Let’s say it’s just dangerous to decide to swerve into a turn lane, and I mean there’s no sign of just driving like a reckless idiot. I mean, if I did and there were cops around, surely they’d pull me over?” said the reader who submitted the video. “He crossed a full lane. It’s not like he drifted, he went right into the turning lane, that’s just bad driving. Let alone killing an animal for no reason. He was driving perfectly straight the whole time.” Castanet sent the video to the RCMP for their opinion. “I have seen the clip and I can say that this driver’s actions to deliberately harm wildlife are shocking and unacceptable,” said spokesman Const. Chris Terlesky. “Aggressive driving like this puts other road users at risk and beyond the obvious consequences, a driver could face a range of possible fines under the Motor Vehicles Act up to and including Drive Without Due Care,” he added. Terleski.
