It is the west London club’s second major signing of the summer following the signing of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City. It is understood the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations winner will earn around £162,000 a week during his time at Chelsea. Speaking to Chelsea’s website, Koulibaly revealed that compatriot Eduard Mendy and former Napoli friend Jorginho played a huge role in convincing him to join. He said: “I am very happy to be here with this team at Chelsea. “They are a great team in the world and my dream has always been to play in the Premier League. “Chelsea came first to sign me in 2016, but we didn’t do it. “Now when they came to me I accepted because they really wanted me to come to the Premier League to play for them.
