In a tweet, the space agency released images of Stephan’s Quintet, a cluster of five galaxies — four of which are interacting. The 2009 image taken by Hubble was taken over several weeks and shows the galaxies surrounded by many stars. Meanwhile, the 2022 image taken by Webb was taken in less than a week and reveals hundreds of never-before-seen star formations because the telescope uses infrared technology, which reveals objects invisible to the human eye because they are surrounded by clouds, gases and dust.
