Oppo’s Reno series has been around since 2019, usually targeting the mid-range and offering stylish designs. Now, the company has launched the Oppo Reno 8 Pro in the global markets, so what to expect? Perhaps the standout feature is the phone’s design, which brings to mind the Oppo Find X5 Pro. It offers a back cover and camera bump made from the same piece of glass, but you also get flat edges here. This design is identical to the Oppo Reno 8 Pro Plus, which was launched in China earlier this year.

More than a great design?

Hadlee Simons / Android Authority The Reno 8 Pro shares more than just looks with the Reno 8 Pro Plus. It also has the same spec sheet, including an upper-mid-range Mediatek Dimensity 8100-Max processor, a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED display, a 4,500mAh battery, and 80W wired charging speeds. Moving on to the photography front, the device features Oppo’s MariSiliconX imaging chip inside. The company says this chip is used for better 4K video in low light, improved 4K HDR video and higher quality selfies.

Oppo Reno 8 Pro: Hot or not?

10 votes The Reno 8 Pro features a triple rear camera system, consisting of a 50MP IMX766 main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro shooter. Look at the front and you have a 32MP IMX709 RGBW camera for selfies. Other notable features include Bluetooth 5.3, Color OS 12.1 on Android 12, dual stereo speakers, in-display fingerprint sensor, and Wi-Fi 6. Oppo hasn’t revealed the price at the time of writing, but hopefully it will be a bit cheaper than last year’s Reno 7 Pro. The older phone was priced at Rs 39,999 (~$500) and we thought it was of questionable value in our review at the time. Comments
