According to family members, 18-year-old Jadelynn Kwok from El Monte and her boyfriend, 24-year-old Michael Fiorillo, were killed over the weekend. The accident happened around 12:30 on the morning of Saturday, April 30. The California Highway Patrol said a driver was heading east on Highway 91 west of Acacia Avenue when the suspect fell into the car in which Jadelynn Kwok and Fiorillo were riding. Investigators said the driver allegedly drove a Honda. Since then, family and friends have been leaving daily flowers and candles at the crash site. “Her smile made everyone happy,” said Mikaylee Kwok, Jadelynn Kwok’s sister. “She felt like home. She’s so stupid. She made everyone laugh. Everyone around her was always happy. She lit up everyone’s world.” Jadelynn Kwok’s brother remembered his sister as a caregiver. “She always did everything for me,” said Ethan Kwok, Jadelynn Kwok’s brother. “When I was hungry, she always took food from me. Even when she could not be home, she always took food from me somehow, and I just love her. She was very kind.” Jadelynn Kwok’s best friend, Lily Vasquez, organized a GoFundMe to raise money for the funeral. He said whoever did that is still out there and should show up. “As soon as the Honda man got out of his car, he took what belonged to his car and took off,” he said. “He did not care to check in on people. He took off. He took our sister, our best friend, our niece, our nephew.” Jadelynn Kwok lovers hope the couple can rest together. Meanwhile, the driver involved remains on the run. The description of the suspect was not immediately made public. Anyone with information is kindly requested to contact the CHP at 424-551-4000.
