There were no injuries, but damage is significant after a car crashed into a home at Hickey’s Road and St. Thomas’ Line in Paradise. The car left Hickey’s Road and traveled onto the front lawn of the property, struck the front bridge of the split-level home and crashed into the living room window before coming to rest. The homeowner was washing his vehicle in the driveway at the time of the crash and rushed around the house to help the driver who was shaken by the incident but is otherwise fine. The homeowner tells VOCM News his niece was sitting on the couch by the same window earlier that morning. It appears that a mechanical problem may have been a contributing factor in the crash. The occupants of the house have been displaced by the damage caused to the structure.
