Officials arrested Wiley Provost Thursday after an eight-year investigation into the murder. Provost has been charged with second-degree murder in Crowshoe’s death. The victim’s body was found in a northeast Calgary retention pond on July 24, 2014, weeks after he was reported missing. Police say Crowshoe and the accused were known to each other and left a house party, where the victim was last seen, together. Authorities believe an argument broke out at some point and Crowshoe’s body was dumped in the lake afterward. The victim’s family says they are comforted by the news of the arrest. “We never gave up,” said Lillian Crowshoe, Colton’s aunt. “As a family we stuck together and did this. I would just like to thank everyone involved who helped our family, everyone who prayed for the family. “We have justice today.” Provost is due in court on July 13.
