It happened around 5:30 Friday afternoon when the Winnipeg Fire Department (WFPS) received a call of a fire at an apartment building in the 500 block of Burnell Street. When they arrived, they found a man injured and called the police. Officers arrived to find a man suffering from injuries to his upper body, although they are not saying what may have caused them. He was rushed to hospital in critical condition but later died. The Homicide Unit is investigating. No suspects have been arrested.
