Sir Graham Brady, chairman of the 1922 Commission, said nominations would open and close on Tuesday, with first ballots on Wednesday and Thursday. All candidates will need 20 supporters to be included in the first round of voting. More knockout rounds will take place next week, with candidates whittled down to a final two before the Commons goes into recess, followed by a vote by members. Brady said he hopes the new prime minister will be announced on Sept. 5, when the Commons returns from summer recess.
