A four-year-old boy has died after being dragged half a mile into the forest by a leopard. Mehraz Azad Mir, was playing in his uncle’s yard in Rajpora Rajwar in north Kashmir, India, when he was attacked. Horrified eyewitnesses say the leopard took the boy from the yard into its mouth on July 6. The young boy was found in critical condition and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. The boy suffered deep wounds and injuries to his body and face as a result of the attack. Eyewitness Aijaz Ahmed said: “We heard screams from the juvenile before the beast was chased by locals. The leopard has dragged him into the forest for more than 500 meters. After the incident, the locals live in a constant state of fear.’ Locals have been warned by officials and wildlife authorities to be aware of other leopard attacks in the area.
