A woman was found dead on the south coast of America after being grabbed by two alligators. The elderly victim died in a lake in Florida on a golf course late Friday night, local officials said. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office said the woman, who has not been named, was seen falling into the lake in Englewood and struggling to stay afloat. The pair of reptiles were then seen grabbing her, authorities said. Two alligators were later removed from the scene, but it remains unclear if they were the ones that attacked the woman. Although alligator attacks are relatively rare, the incident follows at least two similar incidents in the US in the past month. One victim was killed in a gated community in South Carolina, while a man who went looking for a frisbee in a Florida lake infested with alligators was found dismembered. Reports say the incident happened at the Boca Royale Golf and Country Club. The organization’s website describes the area as a 1,000-acre gated community that includes homes, lakes, golf and nature preserves. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says alligators are more active when temperatures rise. The exact cause of the woman’s death is not yet known.
