A Kitchen Fire Causes A Power Outage Closing Part Of The City Center

Crews are battling a house fire on the corner of Benton and St George streets.
About 10 fire engines rushed to the scene.

Waterloo Regional Police say Queen Street is closed from Courtland Avenue to Church Street and St.  George is closed from Benton Street to Cedar Street South.
Kitchener Wilmot Hydro reported an outage in the area affecting 1,350 customers.
The outage began at 7:45 p.m
