The two people killed were not immediately identified, but were described as a 50-year-old woman and a 7-year-old man. McCarthy said the investigation is still in its early stages, and it’s unclear whether the boat was overloaded or what other conditions may have caused it to capsize. As of Tuesday afternoon, the boat had been towed downtown, where officials were working to get it right.
